REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR GEO- REFERENCED HOUSEHOLD SURVEY SHELTER CENSUS IN KAKUMA CAMP

 

The National Council of Churches of Kenya is an umbrella organization for protestant churches and Christian Organisations registered in Kenya. In Kakuma Camp, NCCK is the Shelter and Infrastructure implementing partner for UNHCR.

NCCK in fulfilling this mandate is seeking to hire a consultancy to carry out a comprehensive geo-referenced shelter survey and household census.

The objective is to gather relevant baseline data for key indicators to help:

  • Identify critical gaps in terms of shelter needs, quality, provision andallocation.
  • Develop GIS based maps indicating existing shelter, their distribution, densities, occupancy et.al,and
  • Generate an accurate account of the shelter components used i.e; walling & roofing materials, number of households and family sizes vis a vis availableshelters.

The exercise targets all the households in the camp

Survey Purpose and Scope

The scope of the work and services for the consultancy will include but not limited to the following:

  • Carry out a geo-referenced shelter census and householdsurvey
  • Assess the quality of shelters measuring safety, adequacy, anddurability.

The quantitative data will be collected by use of Smart phone based questionnaires, Questionnaires, maps interviews and direct observation.

 

Timeframe:

Total 40 days after commencement of contract.
