OFFICE OF THE GENERAL SECRETARY

Appointed by the Executive Committee, the General Secretary serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Council. The office of the General Secretary therefore bears ultimate responsibility for the Council in all its operations and functions. It handles all matters connected with the consultative, regulatory, administration and other relevant affairs of the Council. In addition, the General Secretary also serves as the spokesman of the Council.

As guided by the NCCK Corporate Plan, the General Secretary provides strategic, management and administrative leadership to all the functions and operations of the Council.

Overall Objective of the Office of the General Secretary

To provide leadership in the articulation and implementation of the vision and mission of the Council and uphold its heritage and values.

Activities

• Facilitate Constitutional and Policy organs of the Council
• Facilitate national advocacy initiatives on Council’s focus areas
• Facilitate the development, implementation and review of the policies and procedures of the Council
• Provide strategic direction to all Council functions
• Coordinate and supervise all functions of the Council
• Facilitate fellowship and ecumenism
• Facilitate effective and efficient management of Council resources
• Execute all legal documents on behalf of the Council
• Promote good relations between the Council and other bodies nationally and internationally
